Ananda Waiheke Tours - FAQs

FAQ

1) Are your tours available every day?
Yes, our tours operate every day except Christmas day.

2) Are they weather dependent?
The wine, art and gourmet food tours operate rain or shine, however, the eco tours are weather dependent due to the outdoor walking component.

3) What is the price?
Because of the flexible nature of our tours, prices can vary depending on what your requirements are.  The price is determined by the length of the tour, amount of people, number of vineyards visited etc.  For a personalised quote, please contact one of our friendly tour organizers - Click here

4) Are the tasting fees included?
Yes, tasting fees for 3 and sometimes 4 different venues are included.

5) Does the tour include lunch?
There is a wide variety of lunch venues on the island, ranging from fine dining to local cafes. We allow you to select the style of dining you prefer, which is at your own expense.

6) Will you make a lunch reservation for us?
You may choose your venue on the day and we are happy to make a lunch reservation on your behalf. This is recommended in the summer season to avoid disappointment if a desired venue is fully booked. To check out several venues we recommend - Click here

7) How big are the groups?
With our shared group tours, the size is often 6-8 people. In peak season the maximum number would not exceed 16. We prefer to keep the tour sizes small and personal to create the best experience for you.

8) Where do the tours start from?
If you are on Waiheke Island our guide can pick you up from a desired location. If you are arriving by ferry from downtown Auckland , Half Moon Bay or Devonport, our guide will meet you at the Waiheke wharf, greeting you with a welcome board with your name on it.

9) Do we need to book the ferry?
No booking is required for the ferries; you can purchase your tickets at the ferry ticket office on the day. If you wish, we can arrange to pre-purchase your tickets and have them couriered to you for your convenience.

10) Is the ferry price included?
Because guests have different options for travelling to the island, our tour price does not include the cost of the ferry tickets unless previously arranged.

11) Which vineyards do you go to?
These can vary depending on availability and we are happy to take special requests, however, vineyards may include three of the following: Cable Bay , Goldwater Estate, Kennedy Point, Mudbrick, Obsidian, Passage Rock, Stonyridge and Te Whau.
If desired, we can also include a visit to Rangihoua olive mill for a taste of premium Waiheke olive oil or beer tasting at Wild on Waiheke, Waiheke's only brewery.
